The Pirate Way Bali

Printing on garments

The ways we print on t-shirts and other garments in Bali, what each is best for, and what it costs.

We print in our own factory in Bali, on garments we cut and sew ourselves - so we can print almost anywhere on a garment, even across a seam.

Each way of printing has its strengths. Pick the one that fits your design and your number of shirts, or ask us on WhatsApp.

Our printing methods

Our inks: water-based, for Bali

For silk screen printing we only use Matsui 301 series inks - water-based inks, not the plastic (PVC) plastisol inks most printers use. We care about our island: what washes off our screens and out of our workshop should not end up in Bali's rivers and sea.

  • Soft: the ink goes into the fabric instead of sitting on top of it like a layer of plastic
  • Breathable: the shirt stays light and cool, even with a big print - in Bali that matters
  • Lasting: every print is heat pressed so the water leaves and the ink sets, wash after wash
