From Customer Artwork to Print-Ready DTF Production in 2 Minutes | TPW PrintOS

▾

In this video, I demonstrate the complete production workflow inside TPW PrintOS , from a customer's logo to a print-ready DTF layout. Starting with a customer design, I quickly separate artwork elements, remove backgrounds, create transparent graphics, automatically crop images, and generate a professional t-shirt mockup. Next, I create a new customer order, select garment quantities, apply automatic quantity-based pricing, generate a bill, and load the order directly into the Gang Sheet builder.

The software automatically calculates the required print quantities, creates an optimized nesting layout, estimates production costs, and generates a print-ready file ready to send to the DTF printer. TPW PrintOS Crop & Edit tab | From Logo to T-Shirt Mockup in Under 2 Minutes

▾

In this video, I demonstrate how TPW PrintOS can take a single logo image and prepare it for production in just a few clicks.

Starting with one logo containing both the icon and text, I:

• Split the logo into separate icon and text images.
• Use the Magic Wand tool to remove the background from the icon.
• Move the icon into the Design 01 folder and rename it to Left Arm Bottom – 6 cm.
• Use the Color Remover tool to instantly remove the black background from the text.
• Save the text as Front Top – 24 cm.
• Return to the Crop Tool and automatically crop both images using the Gentle Crop method.
• Overwrite the original files.
• Open the Mockup Tool, where both designs are automatically positioned on the t-shirt based on their saved print locations.

Everything is saved inside the client's folder, making artwork easy to organize, reuse, and prepare for production.

The workflow, start to finish

▾

PrintOS runs your job in one app, in the order you'd actually work:

  1. Job Files — file the client's artwork, sync it with your server.
  2. Batch — crop, rotate or rename a whole folder in one pass.
  3. Edit — knock out backgrounds, crop by hand, set vector text.
  4. Mockup — show the client the shirt before you print it.
  5. Orders — sizes, pricing, bill.
  6. Gang Sheets — set the roll, nest the sheet, cut it into lengths, add markers.
  7. Make Video — post the finished job.

Pick a job once and every tab follows it.

Installing PrintOS

▾

There's no installer to fight with — PrintOS ships as a ZIP containing the program, its folders and some sample files.

  1. Download the ZIP from the download page.
  2. Unzip it wherever you want it to live — a folder on your C: drive, a work drive, even a USB stick.
  3. Run the program from that folder. It keeps its settings and data alongside itself.

Your 30-day trial starts the first time you run it, with every tool unlocked. To update later, just download the newer ZIP.

How syncing works

▾

PrintOS keeps a local database on your machine so you can always keep working, even with no connection.

On Professional and Enterprise, it also syncs over the internet — clients, orders, designs and Job Files — so everyone on your team sees the same data. Sync runs incrementally: only what changed moves.

You control it with an Auto Sync toggle, or push and pull by hand any time.

Technical specifications

System requirements

▾
ItemRequirement
Operating systemWindows 10 or 11, 64-bit
Memory8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended
Disk space~500 MB, plus room for your designs
Display1920 × 1080 or larger

Databases and file formats

▾

Databases

  • Local: SQLite — no setup, runs offline.
  • Online: MySQL / SQL over your own server (Professional and Enterprise).

The local databases are plain, unencrypted SQLite files sitting in your PrintOS folder. Open them with any SQLite tool, back them up by copying the file, or read them from your own code.

Files

  • Designs: PNG with transparency (recommended), JPG.
  • Layouts: exported print-ready sheets with registration marks and a CMYK colour bar.
  • Video: MP4, Instagram / TikTok formats, GPU-accelerated encoding.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a subscription?

▾

No. PrintOS is a one-time licence. You buy it once and keep it — there's no expiry and no monthly fee.

Updates are free too: download the latest version whenever you like.

Will it slice my designs to save film?

▾

Never. The nesting engine packs the sheet tightly and fills gaps with filler images, but a design is always treated as one whole piece.

If something doesn't fit cleanly it stays too big rather than getting cut — because a sliced print is scrap.

How many computers can I use it on?

▾

It depends on your edition:

  • Local Edition — 1 computer.
  • Professional — 3 computers.
  • Enterprise — 5 computers.

Extra computers are US$199 each, any time. A licence covers computers within your own company or location.

Can I try it first?

▾

Yes — download it and run the full suite free for 30 days. Every tool is unlocked, no card and no account needed.

Can I get my data out, or build my own system on it?

▾

Yes. Nothing is locked away.

PrintOS stores your clients, orders and designs in ordinary SQLite databases in its own folder. They're not encrypted and they're not in a secret format — open them with any SQLite browser, query them, or point your own code at them.

So if you want to build your own website, customer portal or reporting system on top of your data, you can. It's your data. Back it up by copying a file, and if you ever stop using PrintOS, you still have everything.

Is this a gang sheet builder?

▾

Yes — and a bit more than most.

PrintOS builds DTF gang sheets from your designs: set your roll width and spacing, give each design its sizes and quantities, and it nests everything tight, cuts the run into lengths, and adds registration marks, a CMYK colour bar and the client ID and date.

Two differences worth knowing:

  • It never slices a design. It packs to save film, but a design is always one whole piece. A too-big piece stays too big — because a sliced print is scrap.
  • It isn't tied to buying film from anyone. Most free gang sheet builders belong to a transfer seller and exist to sell you their printing. PrintOS runs on your machine and prints on your printer.

How is this different from a gang sheet builder I pay monthly for?

▾

Two things: what you pay, and what you get.

You buy it once. There's no monthly fee and no annual renewal — a one-time licence from US$199, and updates are free. Stop paying and nothing switches off, because there's nothing to stop paying.

It's the whole shop, not just sheets. Gang sheet tools build gang sheets. PrintOS also files your client artwork, crops it, removes backgrounds, mocks it up on the garment, takes the order, makes the bill, and cuts the social video — all sharing one client, so you never re-type a name.

And you get 30 days to try all of it, not 7.

Can it make the social videos too?

▾

Yes. PrintOS includes a video maker built for print shops, not a general editor.

Pull the clips straight off your camera or a folder, and because PrintOS already knows the client, it loads their recent orders, shirt names and fabric colours for you — so the details are right without looking anything up. Add your music and outro, and publish to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or your own FTP in one click.

Encoding is GPU-accelerated, so exports don't hold up the shop.

Can it tell me what a job actually cost?

▾

Yes. PrintOS records the cost side as you work: fabric and rib in kilos for shirts you make, the buy price for ones you bring in, and the DTF film off the roll for every gang sheet.

The Reports screen totals it month by month — shirts, revenue, cost, profit, fabric kilos, film centimetres and average ink coverage — and exports to CSV for your accountant.

What sizes can an order have?

▾

3XS through 5XL, with a live total as you type. Every size is on one screen — no scrolling through sizes nobody orders.

How many computers does a licence cover?

▾

Local Edition is 1 computer, Professional 3, Enterprise 5 — and you can add more at $199 each, any time, within your own business.

Each computer activates against your licence, and you can free a machine again when you replace it.

What's the difference between Local Edition and Professional?

▾

Every design and production tool is in both — gang sheets, mockups, crop, background removal, orders, billing and video.

Professional adds online sync: clients, orders, designs and client files shared between machines through your own database and server. Local Edition keeps everything in its local database on one computer.

Does it order the fabric for me?

▾

It works out what to order and who from. Open a bill and PrintOS totals the fabric and rib in kilos per colour — rounded up to whole kilos, because that's how you buy it — or lists the shirts and sizes for anything you buy in finished.

It's grouped by supplier with the message ready to send on WhatsApp. It knows which supplier sells which fabric from your own data, so there's nothing extra to configure.
